An 81-year-old woman was held at gunpoint during a home burglary early Tuesday morning in Laventille.
Police reported that the woman was asleep in her bedroom around 1:15 a.m. when she heard a noise in her living room. Investigating the disturbance, she was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
The men demanded money and instructed her not to make a sound. They placed her on her bed with a pillow over her face before taking her handbag containing $300. After the robbery, the suspects walked away from the home and escaped.
