The Ministry of Health has confirmed that the independent expert panel reviewing the circumstances surrounding the death of six-year-old Jasher Francois has submitted its report.
The ministry noted that, despite an extension granted, a statement from Jasher’s parents was not received during the panel’s deliberations. To ensure their views are included, the Office of the Chief Medical Officer has formally reached out to the family. “This step is essential to guarantee that the review is conducted with the highest degree of fairness, care and sensitivity,” the ministry said.
Jasher died at the San Fernando Teaching Hospital on August 7, after being admitted for treatment for a "dry cough".
