A FORMER University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) professor, who was previously sued for defamation by two former colleagues, has partially won a breach of contract lawsuit against the institution.
In a judgment delivered last Friday, Justice Betsy- Ann Lambert-Peterson awarded Valerie Stoute $15,000 in nominal damages over UTT's handling of misconduct allegations brought against her.
Stoute, an Environmental Studies professor, had joined the UTT in 2008 under a three-year contract but remained employed after it expired and later received a salary increase.
