As he continues to prepare the upcoming national budget, Finance Minister Davendranath Tancoo yesterday called on the nation to “embrace the trials and forge ahead”, while the Government remains committed to increased economic and social stability.

Tancoo stated in an Independence Day message to the nation that “nothing happens overnight” as “the progress we pursue requires clear goals, tough decisions, focused effort and unwavering resolve”.

“We cannot do it alone. But with the solidarity of 1.3 million people, we are confident of making the right strides and stepping into a future that we helped shape,” Tancoo said.
