CONCERNS of sexual abuse and possible racial discrimination at some “residential” children’s homes supported by the State have been raised by former housing minister Camille Robinson-Regis.
The Trincity/Maloney MP also on Friday claimed some in authority, including the line minister (Social Development Minister Vandana Mohit), had knowledge of improper practices among some residential children’s homes but no action was being taken.
Robinson-Regis was contributing to the 2026-2027 national budget debate in Parliament, where she claimed systems including the Children’s Authority of Trinidad and Tobago were suffering from a lack of resources, funding and strategic direction.
