THE Breakfast Shed will continue operating for now after the Court of Appeal on Wednesday rejected an application by the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) to have its appeal treated as an urgent matter.
The decision leaves in place an injunction granted by the High Court earlier this year allowing the vendors to remain in possession pending the substantive trial scheduled for January 2027.
Robert Le Hunte, president of the Femmes du Chalet Co-operative Society Ltd, which operates the Breakfast Shed, issued a statement following the ruling, saying it provided certainty and stability for the vendors and their families.
