A clash over the costs involved in the pursuit of the Dragon gas project, as well as other aspects of the previous arrangement, emerged yesterday—with conflicting positions coming from Attorney General John Jeremie and Energy Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal on one side, and former prime ministers Dr Keith Rowley and Stuart Young on the other.

Jeremie, at a news conference on Thursday, said the Kamla Persad-Bissessar administration spent less than half a million dollars and got an Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) licence, while the former PNM government “spent in excess of $120 million pursuing this project with nothing to show for it after two years”.
