An in­quest has been or­dered in­to the death of 27-year-old Michael An­ge­lo Fran­cis, who was fa­tal­ly stabbed in Port of Spain ear­li­er this month.

As­sis­tant Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions Sab­ri­na Dougdeen-Jaglal di­rect­ed that the in­quest be held fol­low­ing a re­view of the in­ves­ti­ga­tion. The de­ci­sion was made on Fri­day, 10th Oc­to­ber, 2025.

Fran­cis sus­tained a sin­gle stab wound to the chest on 5th Oc­to­ber, 2025, and died the same day at the Port of Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal.
