The Min­istry of Health has con­firmed the ap­point­ment of a Com­mit­tee to in­ves­ti­gate the cir­cum­stances sur­round­ing the death of six-year-old Jash­er Fran­cois at the San Fer­nan­do Teach­ing Hos­pi­tal.

Fol­low­ing Jash­er’s death, Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar SC had in­struct­ed the Min­is­ter and the Min­is­ter to probe the cir­cum­stances that led to the child los­ing his life.

In a state­ment, the Min­istry con­firmed that the com­mit­tee com­pris­es four ex­perts in the ar­eas of Pae­di­atrics, Pae­di­atric In­ten­sive Care, Nurs­ing, Qual­i­ty As­sur­ance and Law.
