Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has received strong support for her announcement that enhanced noise pollution laws will be brought to Parliament before the end of the year.
On Tuesday, Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) chairman Shankar Bidaisee told the Express the board had approved a policy stating there are to be no fetes at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
He said maintaining the facility costs as much as $15 million a year, while the revenue generated from fetes is negligible in comparison.
