Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro has launched an internal investigation into Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Suzette Martin—head of the Intelligence and Investigations Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service—following allegations made by firearms dealer Brent Thomas against her.
The investigation comes months after Martin led an investigation into the recently retired police commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher.
Speaking at his first news conference since assuming office on June 18, Guevarro, who did not identify the firearms dealer by name, disclosed that the allegations were brought to his attention on his first day in the role.
