Screams from an 83-year-old Biche woman alert­ed neigh­bours, who took mat­ters in­to their own hands to cap­ture a ban­dit on Fri­day night.

Po­lice said the woman was in the bed­room of her Cu­napo South­ern Main Road home at around 7:30 pm when a man walked in­to the room and be­gan chok­ing her while de­mand­ing cash.

The ban­dit punched her in the face sev­er­al times as she screamed.
