Two elĀderĀly men were beatĀen and robbed by banĀdits in sepĀaĀrate inĀciĀdents, hours apart on SunĀday.
In the most reĀcent atĀtack, a 71-year-old Barataria man was bound, beatĀen and robbed when three banĀdits stormed his home at around 11.30 pm. PoĀlice said the man was in the kitchen of his Eighth Street home when the banĀdits conĀfrontĀed him, stealĀing his cellĀphone and $10,000 in cash.
The atĀtackĀers then led the man to the bathĀroom, tied his hands, and beat him beĀfore lockĀing him inĀside. They alĀso stole the manās black Hyundai TucĀson, $20,000 in cash and US $1,500 from a drawĀer in the house beĀfore fleeĀing. The man manĀaged to free himĀself and reĀportĀed the inĀciĀdent.
