The maxi taxi dri­ver who was seen al­leged­ly as­sault­ing three li­cens­ing of­fi­cers along the South­ern Main Road in Curepe last week has plead­ed not guilty to the charges.

Po­lice re­port­ed that the in­ci­dent oc­curred around 10 am while Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle Of­fi­cers Kair­ron Hayter, Ke­ston Price and Andy Sa­roop were car­ry­ing out du­ties along the road­way when they were as­sault­ed.

Of­fi­cers ar­rest­ed Ron­dell Bowen in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent, and af­ter le­gal ad­vice was ren­dered, in­struc­tions were lat­er is­sued for Bowen to be charged with com­mon as­sault and as­sault on a peace of­fi­cer.
