WITH a car having already plunged down a ten-foot-deep landslide in Poole Village, Rio Claro, residents are fearful of the landslip preventing emergency vehicles from reaching them and are calling for the crumbling roadway to be fixed.

Begesse Street caved in with recent heavy rains, leading to villagers having to use a narrow space from a resident’s property to access their homes.

Scores of residents from 12 houses and 15 farmers with agricultural lands have been affected. Villagers said that the landslip developed over the past three years and, on Thursday, they noticed it was barricaded with caution tape.
