CHILDREN with disabilities will be prioritised by the new United National Congress (UNC) Government, especially within the public healthcare system, according to recently appointed Minister of Health Dr Lackram Bodoe.
Bodoe, who spent his first full day as minister yesterday within the walls of the San Fernando General Hospital, told the Express that the Government intended to focus first on children, and particularly those with disabilities.
This, he said, was detailed by Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar, who throughout her campaigning for the April 28 general election signalled her intent to extend the Children’s Life Fund to more children with disabilities.
