Mount Pleasant Academy have secured a place in the Popeyes Challenge Cup semi-finals but head coach Theodore 'Tappa' Whitmore was less than impressed with his team's overall showing in their penalty shootout win on Wednesday.
Mount Pleasant were forced to dig deep to defeat a young Chapelton Maroons team 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 stalemate at the Drax Hall Sports Complex in St Ann.
“I think, once you put on the Mount Pleasant shirt, you are supposed to be representing, and we didn't do that this afternoon. I think we didn't contribute much to the game,” Whitmore said, while noting it was a difficult game.“Credit must be given to the opponents for their spirited fight," Whitmore added.
