(Kaieteur News) – A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) Member of Parliament, Ganesh Mahipaul has formally written to Auditor General Deodat Sharma calling for an immediate and thorough investigation into the suspected disappearance of approximately $2.3 million from the National Pathway Programme in Region 3.
In his official correspondence, Mahipaul highlighted that the unaccounted public funds were specifically allocated under a government initiative established to provide crucial employment opportunities and financial support for part-time, ten-day workers.
The opposition parliamentarian raised serious concerns over the matter, emphasising that “any loss or mismanagement of public funds intended for vulnerable citizens raises serious concerns” and undermines the integrity of social safety nets.
