The Wa­ter and Sew­er­age Au­thor­i­ty (WASA) has an­nounced a se­ries of ma­jor in­fra­struc­ture up­grades aimed at im­prov­ing the re­li­a­bil­i­ty of wa­ter sup­ply to res­i­dents along Trinidad’s North Coast.

In a re­lease is­sued fol­low­ing a site vis­it on Sat­ur­day 19 Ju­ly 2025, WASA said up­grades are planned for wa­ter pro­duc­tion fa­cil­i­ties in Rin­con, Tyri­co, Las Cuevas and La Fil­lette, with a new plant to be con­struct­ed in Blan­chisseuse.

These works, the Au­thor­i­ty said, will help shift com­mu­ni­ties from the cur­rent 24/2 sup­ply sched­ule to a more con­sis­tent 24/5 ser­vice. The long-term goal is to pro­vide a full 24/7 sup­ply across the Mara­cas Re­gion.
