A Jamaican man accused of raping a visitor has been remanded to Dodds Prison after the court refused him bail.
Roman Arib Patterson, 29, of no fixed address, was not required to plead to the charge that on June 12 he had sexual intercourse with a woman without her consent, knowing she did not consent or was reckless as to whether she consented to the intercourse.
Prosecutor Sergeant Gazelda Knight said the accused arrived here last July, was granted a six-month stay, had not sought an extension, and currently had no fixed address.
