AFC Pays Tribute to the National Contribution and Memory of Robert H.O. Corbin, CCH.

The Alliance For Change (AFC) joins the nation in mourning the passing of Robert H.O. Corbin, former Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and former Leader of the Opposition in Guyana’s National Assembly.

Mr. Corbin was an astute politician, a formidable strategist and a man whose political mind was, in many respects, second to none. His contribution to Guyana’s political development spanned decades, and his influence extended well beyond the positions he held – whether as Party Leader, Minister, Member of Parliament, or Attorney-at-Law.

The AFC particularly recognises Mr. Corbin’s contribution to the evolution of political cooperation and opposition unity in Guyana. His strategic vision and willingness to engage in the difficult work of bringing political forces together helped set the stage for the formation of the A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) and, subsequently, for the Cummingsburg Accord, which brought the AFC and APNU together for the 2015 General and Regional Elections.
