Amid growing jitters over job security and employment opportunities, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar is assuring citizens her Government is making tangible progress in rebuilding the economy, attracting major investments, and creating the conditions for thousands of new jobs.
In an interview with the Sunday Express yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s national budget, Persad-Bissessar said her Government was committed to creating meaningful and sustainable jobs that allow citizens to support their families, develop their skills and build better futures.
She also stood by the decision to discontinue the Community-Based Environmental Protection and Enhancement Programme (CEPEP) and restructure the Unemployment Relief Programme (URP).
