A group of United States-based human rights lawyers have filed a lawsuit in US federal court on behalf of the families of two Trinidadian men killed during a US missile strike on October 14, 2025, alleging the deaths were unlawful and demanding accountability from the Donald Trump administration.
The case, titled Burnley v US, is being brought on behalf of the mother of Chad Joseph and the sister of Rishi Samaroo. The men were killed while travelling by boat after working in Venezuela.
