No discussion on more money for GTE contractor

(Kaieteur News) – President Irfaan Ali on Monday said there is “no discussion” on granting additional funds to Lindsayca Guyana Inc., even as he confirmed that the contractor behind the two-year-delayed Gas-to-Energy (GTE) project has requested more money to complete the facility at Wales.

The President made the disclosure during a media conference on Monday, confirming Kaieteur News’ previous reports that Lindsayca had approached the Government of Guyana (GoG) for additional funding.

In response to a question from this newspaper, he explained, “We have had commitments in terms of the first power at the end of December and other milestone. I know that there has been a request for additional resources. That has not been discussed…there is no discussion on that as we speak.”
