Independent Senators remained tight-lipped today as debate on the Prime Minister’s Pension (Amendment) Bill 2025 got underway in the Senate.
Outside the Red House this morning, Independent Senator Michael De La Bastide said, “It is best to wait and listen to the debates before commenting,” offering no insight into how the bench may vote on the legislation.
When asked about the Government’s expectations of support from the independent bench, Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence Dominic Smith said, “I trust that independent senators will do what is right.”
