Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has called on the former People’s National Movement (PNM) government, including former local government minister Faris Al-Rawi, to account for $135.6 million in property taxes collected.
Speaking yesterday at the post-Cabinet news conference at the Cabildo Building, Office of the Attorney General, Port of Spain, Persad-Bissessar said 132,253 property owners paid property taxes during the period February 29, 2024, to May 20, 2025, totalling $135.63 million.
