Police in the Siparia District have launched an investigation following the discovery of a decomposing body in a dam located off Victor Street, Syne Village, Penal, on Tuesday afternoon.
The discovery was made around 12:25 p.m. by a 21-year-old who had gone to pick mangoes along a bushy track near the Mora Dam. He contacted the Command Centre to report seeing a motionless body in the water.
Officers responded to the call and proceeded approximately 200 feet off the roadway. They located the body approximately 30 feet down a precipice on the right side of the trail, submerged in the dam with its head facing downward. The deceased was clad in a green shirt and black long pants.
