(Kaieteur News) – The $2 billion water treatment plant under construction at Bath, West Coast Berbice, is expected to be completed by 31st December, 2026, the Ministry of Public Utilities and Aviation announced Thursday.
The ministry said its Director General, Alfonso De Armas, along with Engineer in Charge of Foreign Funded Projects Arshad Yacoub and Head of the Well Drilling Unit Orin Browne, visited the site to assess progress on the project.
“Once complete, the plant will treat 18 million litres per day, serving residents from Kingelly to Jacoba. Three new wells are being drilled to feed it, so source and treatment capacity come online together,” the ministry said.
