Criminals seeking United States currency killed a retired roti shop owner, who had recently returned to Trinidad, and beat her husband during a home ­invasion in Moruga on Wednesday night.

Durpatee Chance, a mother of four and grandmother of six, is suspected to have been smothered with a pillow during the ordeal at her home at Moruga Road, St Mary’s Village.
