FINANCE Minister Davendranath Tancoo has instructed the Central Bank to halt printing of the new $100 polymer bill which features Trinidad and Tobago’s redesigned coat of arms with the pan in place of Columbus’ ships.
“I confirm that I have instructed the Central Bank to immediately cease all activity associated with the printing of any new bills bearing the new coat of arms,” Tancoo told the Sunday Express yesterday via WhatsApp.
However, Tancoo said he was not at liberty to disclose the reason for the decision at this time.
