Days after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Prime minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar at Caricom’s 50th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government, representatives of energy giant, Shell, travelled to Venezuela to meet with interim leader Delcy Rodriguez.
According to Venezuela’s state media, Rodriguez yesterday met with senior executives of the British energy company at the Presidential Miraflores palace to “evaluate opportunities for cooperation in the gas sector,” and strengthen strategic alliances for its development.
State-run newspaper Orinoco del Correo, the meeting was attended by the president of Venezuelan State oil company, PDVSA Héctor Obregón; the vice minister of Petroleum, Paula Henao; and the vice minister of Gas, Luis González.
