Chief Justice Ronnie Boodoosingh says while lawyers were sometimes knocked by the public, their duty as legal professionals was critical to the success of democracy, the defence of the rule of law, and the preservation of values.
Boodoosingh was speaking on Saturday at the Pointe-a-Pierre Golf Club, during the Assembly of Southern Lawyers (ASL) Annual Dinner.
Reminiscing his journey into the field of law, the Chief Justice said the moment was “a homecoming" to him.
