Attorney-at-law Dr Margaret Satya Rose has been appointed an Opposition Senator, replacing Janelle John-Bates in the Senate.

The appointment was announced by the People's National Movement (PNM), which described Dr Rose as an accomplished attorney, public policy researcher and educator with internationally recognised expertise in public procurement, governance, commercial law and anti-corruption systems.

According to the party, Dr Rose's professional experience spans both the legal and public policy spheres, making her a valuable addition to the Opposition's parliamentary team.
