(Kaieteur News) – The Ministry of Health has announced that the $6.6 billion Lima Regional Hospital in Region Two, which was commissioned in August 2025, is now offering dialysis services.

In a statement on Saturday, the ministry said that for the first time, patients requiring dialysis treatment can access the service at the hospital. The new service will primarily benefit patients within the Lima Regional Hospital’s catchment area and surrounding communities who require ongoing dialysis treatment.

The ministry said that following the completion of necessary preparations and the installation of equipment, the facility has transitioned to active patient care, with the first two patients, Rodwell Stewart and Hillary Allen, successfully receiving dialysis treatment.
