Rousseau Primary crowned themselves as 2026 national champions of the Scotiabank Kids Championship after dethroning defending champions Corinaldi Avenue Primary 2-0 on penalties following a thrilling 2-2 draw in regulation time at Wespow Park in St James on Sunday.
The 12-year-old tournament is held in multiple markets across Scotiabank's footprint, originally in Latin America.
In dramatic fashion that kept spectators on the edge of their seats, Corinaldi took the lead courtesy of an own goal by Rousseau’s goalkeeper Dejorn Williams. Cashmere Martin doubled the lead for Corinaldi.
