(Kaieteur News) – Long before the recent shenanigans involving the Leader of the Opposition, there has been a disturbing pattern of hostility towards him and the political movement he leads. The latest episode, involving his arrest on the eve of King Charles’s visit to Guyana, raises serious questions about the use of state power in this country.
The ostensible basis for his arrest is the obtaining of video evidence in relation to an incident which led to him being charged and placed before the courts. That incident itself raises concern as to why the video evidence had not been made public by the government.
