Tears of joy flowed from JhuÂmantie MoÂhammed afÂter a WaÂter and SewÂerÂage AuÂthorÂiÂty (WASA) team arÂrived at her home on FriÂday, conÂductÂing tests and startÂing exÂcaÂvaÂtion of a conÂdemned WASA line which she beÂlieves is reÂsponÂsiÂble for the unÂderÂminÂing of her Debe home.
WipÂing her eyes, MoÂhammed said she worked hard all her life sellÂing proÂduce in the marÂket, beatÂing rice and doÂing doÂmesÂtic work to build her home, which she says now has a conÂstant flow of chloÂriÂnatÂed waÂter runÂning beÂneath it.
“I am 72 years old and I worked all my life. I can’t sleep at night, I have to sleep on the couch. It hard for me,” MoÂhammed said, exÂplainÂing that she has been begÂging for the isÂsue to be adÂdressed for nearÂly a decade.
