A 40-year-old man was fa­tal­ly shot in Williamsville while wait­ing for trans­porta­tion to work this morn­ing. He has been iden­ti­fied as Al­lan Sama­roo.

Po­lice say that around 7 a.m., Sama­roo was on Es­mer­al­do Branch Road when neigh­bours heard a loud ex­plo­sion. One neigh­bour found him ly­ing on the road, bleed­ing from a gun­shot wound.

Of­fi­cers be­lieve the sus­pect was hid­ing in a near­by bushy area. The Homi­cide Bu­reau, Re­gion 3, is in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
