Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar says she will not hesitate to call yet another State of Emergency, even as the Special Operations Bill passed in Parliament yesterday.
The following is the Prime Minister's Statement, posted to her social media moments ago.
Following the highly successful State of Emergency, during which 3,552 persons were charged, last night the Special Operations (SO) Bill was passed in the House of Representatives. Next week, the SO Bill will be passed in the Senate without amendments.
