President of the Trinidad and Tobago Incoming Tour Operators Association (TTITOA), Lorraine Pouchet, has responded to an article published yesterday by the UK media outlet, The Telegraph, saying that it fails to highlight the positivity of the twin-island nation.
She added that the article titled, “From tourism to terror: The Caribbean island torn apart by gangs and guns”, was a disservice to public interest.
Written by Colin Freeman and Victor Raison, the article leads with the murder of the Peterkin siblings, recounted by their mother Anisa Rampersad, where Faith Peterkin, ten; Ariana Peterkin, 14; Shane Peterkin, 17 and Tiffany Peterkin, 19 were killed by gunmen at their Heights of Guanapo, Arima, home on September 21, 2023.
