KINGSTON, Jamaica — Pure National Limited, Jamaica’s leading ice manufacturer and one of the biggest in the English-speaking Caribbean, which produces and distributes brands including Pure National Ice, Happy Ice & Happy Water, has named Omar McFarlane as its new chief executive officer. McFarlane previously served as operations manager for the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF).
Back in November 2024, a fire wiped out Pure National’s production plant in Kingston, a blow that forced the company to import ice just to keep up with the county’s demand.
Since then, the company has put roughly $400 million into rebuilding, including a new 70-ton Paktol ice maker that will allow it to produce even more than the amount that could be manufactured before the fire.
