A late-night robbery at the Haagen-Dazs Ice Cream outlet in downtown Port of Spain left staff shaken and police on the hunt for two suspects who escaped with over $1,300 in cash.
Around 10:51 p.m. on Friday, two men entered the popular ice cream parlour located at the corner of Queen's Park West and Dundonald Street and announced a robbery. According to eyewitnesses, the men, one of whom appeared armed, ordered employees, including informant Aveda Murray of Belmont, to lie face down on the floor.
“We want no phones, we want money,” one of the criminals reportedly declared before grabbing the cash register. The register reportedly contained $1,337.
