THE residents of Springland Village in Gasparillo are appealing for help in identifying the man involved in a series of water line sabotages.
It happened around 3 a.m. on Monday when the suspect was seen on CCTV footage walking through the village, cutting off brass fittings and sawing through pipelines. The motive appears to be malicious intent with the man appearing to be a scrap iron thief after the metal. It has left the village without water for several kilometres.
According to a police report, the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) said that the damage included 29 brass connections valued at $300 each and a pressure- reducing gauge valve worth $1,500.
