Central Division police opened fire on a man who threatened to shoot officers during a raid in Couva on Tuesday night.
Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro confirmed that based on intelligence officers went to a home in Couva district for the purpose of searching for firearms and ammunition.
"But upon entry they were confronted by an individual who engaged them with a firearm, responding to the immediate threat officers discharged their service issued weapons injuring the suspect in the process," he said.
