The Government of Barbados is set to launch a groundbreaking grandfather mentorship programme aimed at fostering positive relationships and guidance between older male role models and the island’s youth.
The revelation came from Minister of People Empowerment and Elder Affairs, Adrian Forde, ahead of the distribution of school supplies under the “One Family Programme” — a million-dollar initiative established by Government to assist 1,000 needy families across Barbados.
Speaking at a media briefing in the conference room of his ministry, Forde said the initiative is a collaborative effort between corporate Barbados and Government, aimed at securing the future of the nation’s youth and Barbados as a whole.
