By Mark DaCosta- The Guyana Police Force is gearing up for a decisive legal path concerning We Invest In Nationhood (WIN) Member of Parliament (MP) Natasha Singh, who is under scrutiny for allegedly possessing a firearm and ammunition. The unfolding situation suggests an absolute commitment by the authorities to pursue the case rigorously, which may have significant implications for the political landscape.
Singh, who was taken into custody on Wednesday, was granted $200,000 bail later that day. She was also asked to report to a police station this morning as investigators continue their inquiries.
The investigation revolves around a Glock 19 9mm pistol and 13 rounds of ammunition that were purportedly discovered in a vehicle occupied by MP Singh and her husband. Initial police reports reveal that the firearm is registered to fellow Opposition MP Dawn Hastings-Williams. Singh was taken into custody on Wednesday at 1:30 a.m. but was granted a $200,000 bail later that day.
