Following Sunday’s shooting death of Isaiah John at a bar in Penal, a relative yesterday called for the resumption of hanging in Trinidad and Tobago.
“Once you hang a good bit of them, I feel they will get the point. If you kill somebody, when you reach in jail, you going and hang. When they had that, it never really had much killing long time,” Yoko Lewis said yesterday.
She said that those who have been committing crime treat prison as going in vacation. “You go in, you make your time, you come back out, you do the crime again, you go back in and it keep going over and over...It makes no sense,” she said.
