A police motorcyclist attached to the St. Joseph Police Station was injured this morning after losing control of his motorcycle during patrol duty in heavy traffic along the Southern Main Road in Curepe.
Around 10:45 a.m., PC Maxwell was riding police motorcycle when a silver Nissan X-Trail, reportedly attempting to pull out of a line of traffic, caused him to take evasive action. The officer applied his brakes, resulting in a skid. He subsequently lost control of the motorcycle and fell onto the roadway, coming to a stop approximately 35 feet away.
Paramedics provided initial medical assistance to the injured officer, who was later transported to the Mt. Hope Hospital by fellow officers. He was treated for a broken clavicle and subsequently discharged.
