Kaieteur Sports – In what policy makers are calling one of the largest sport gatherings of its kind, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, in partnership with the National Sports Commission, Global Super League and Australia’s Deakin University, hosted a landmark two-day Sports Seminar at the Arthur Chung Convention Centre (ACCC) on Thursday aimed at lifting standards across Guyana’s nine core sport disciplines.

The seminar brought together sports administrators, coaches, lead athletes and policy makers for focused sessions on four strategic pillars: building a proper sports ecosystem, workforce development, sports governance and sports tourism.

Attendees included Jamie Stewart, Director of the Global Super League; Deakin University Professor Campbell Jamieson; Professor Pamm Phillips, the Lead Facilitator of the programme; Minister of Sports Charles Ramson; Minister within the Ministry Steven Jacobs; and Assistant Directors of Sport Franklin Wilson and Melissa Dow‑Richardson.
