The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is warning pedestrians to exercise caution when using the Chandernagore Walkover near the Chase Village Overpass, saying the structure has developed structural issues.
According to a release from the ministry, the walkover is essential for pedestrian connectivity between Chandernagore and Carlsen Field and remains the only designated crossing point in the area. The ministry said it is actively assessing the situation and will carry out emergency repairs in the shortest timeframe.
In the meantime, pedestrians are urged to consider alternative safe options where possible. Those who must use the structure are strongly advised to walk at the edge of the surface and not in the centre when crossing.
