The Min­istry of Works and In­fra­struc­ture is warn­ing pedes­tri­ans to ex­er­cise cau­tion when us­ing the Chan­der­nagore Walkover near the Chase Vil­lage Over­pass, say­ing the struc­ture has de­vel­oped struc­tur­al is­sues.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from the min­istry, the walkover is es­sen­tial for pedes­tri­an con­nec­tiv­i­ty be­tween Chan­der­nagore and Carlsen Field and re­mains the on­ly des­ig­nat­ed cross­ing point in the area. The min­istry said it is ac­tive­ly as­sess­ing the sit­u­a­tion and will car­ry out emer­gency re­pairs in the short­est time­frame.

In the mean­time, pedes­tri­ans are urged to con­sid­er al­ter­na­tive safe op­tions where pos­si­ble. Those who must use the struc­ture are strong­ly ad­vised to walk at the edge of the sur­face and not in the cen­tre when cross­ing.
